UK Drinking Water Crisis
Why every house in UK should have a water filter?
The Royal Society of Chemistry is calling to join the campaign "Cleaning up UK Drinking Water" on the UK Government to overhaul its drinking water PFAS standards with the #CleanUpPFAS.
Why every house in UK should have a water filter?
Let's talk about PFAS Contamination on your tap water:
What are PFAS?
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a large group of thousands of synthetic chemicals valued for their durability and non-stick, water-repellent, and anti-grease properties. They are often referred to as "forever chemicals" because they break down very slowly, with some taking over 1,000 years to degrade.
How widespread is it?
PFAS are used and found everywhere, even in polar ice caps. Human exposure to PFAS is widespread. Over a third of tested water courses in England and Wales contain medium or high-risk levels of PFAS.

PFAS Health Risks Include:
- Testicular cancer
- Thyroid disease
- Increased cholesterol levels
- Liver damage
- Fertility issues
- Harm to unborn children
