Step 1: Preparation

Close water inlet & open outlet faucet to drain piping system.

Step 1: Preparation

To ensure a smooth and effective draining process, first, make sure to close the water inlet valve securely. Then, open the outlet faucet to allow all the water to flow out of the piping system. This step is crucial as it prevents any residual water from causing leaks or pressure issues during installation.

Diagram for Step 2: Connect fittings to cold water line

Step 2: Connect Fittings

Disconnect faucet tubes, install fitting on cold water line. Use Teflon tape.

Step 2: Connect Fittings

Start by carefully disconnecting the existing faucet tubes to prepare for installation. Take the specialized fitting that came with your Filtrate kit and secure it onto the cold water line. For a proper seal, wrap Teflon tape around the threading in a clockwise direction before attaching. This ensures a watertight connection and prevents future leaks.

Diagram for Step 3: Mount filter head

Step 3: Mount Head

Mount filter head to wall, ensuring space for cartridge.

Step 3: Mount Head

Select a sturdy wall location near your water supply for mounting the filter head. Using the screws provided, securely attach the mounting bracket to the wall. Be sure to leave adequate clearance below the head (at least 2-3 inches) to accommodate the cartridge installation and future replacements. A solid mount is essential for long-term stability.

Step 4: Connect Tubing

Connect tubing to fittings & head. Note inlet/outlet.

Step 4: Connect Tubing

Take the color-coded tubing and connect it properly between your water line fittings and the filter head. Pay close attention to the inlet and outlet markings on the filter head - connecting these incorrectly will prevent proper water flow. Push each tube firmly into its connection point until you feel it lock into place.

Diagram for Step 5: Install cartridge with 1/4 turn

Step 5: Install Cartridge

Remove cap seal, moisten O-rings, push cartridge into head & turn 1/4 right.

Step 5: Install Cartridge

Before installation, remove the protective cap seal from the new cartridge. Lightly moisten the O-rings with water to ensure a smooth connection. Align the cartridge with the filter head and push upward with moderate pressure until it's fully seated. Finally, turn the cartridge a quarter-turn to the right until you hear or feel it lock into position.

Step 6: Verify Setup

Ensure your Home Water Kit is installed as per the drawing.

Step 6: Verify Setup

Take a moment to compare your installation with the reference diagram. Verify that all connections are secure, the filter head is properly mounted, and the cartridge is correctly installed. This visual check helps catch any errors before testing the system with water pressure, preventing potential leaks or damage.

Diagram for Step 7: Rinse cartridge for 5 minutes

Step 7: Rinse Cartridge

Gently open water inlet. Rinse cartridge for 5 minutes. Do not take water.

Step 7: Rinse Cartridge

Slowly open the water inlet valve to allow water to flow through the system. Let water run through the filter for a full 5 minutes to properly flush the cartridge of any manufacturing residues or carbon dust. During this initial rinse period, do not consume the water as it may contain harmless but unpleasant-tasting particles being flushed from the new filter.

Diagram for Step 8: Final check for leaks

Step 8: Final Check

After rinsing, close outlet faucet & double-check for any leakages.

Step 8: Final Check

Once the rinse cycle is complete, close the outlet faucet and carefully inspect all connection points for any signs of leakage. Pay particular attention to the joints between tubing and fittings, as well as around the cartridge seal. If you find any leaks, tighten connections as needed or check for proper component alignment. Your Filtrate system is now ready to provide clean, filtered water!
